Fairy Princess Party

This year was the first time the girls had opinions when it came to their birthday party- and they had LOTS of them!
With their birthdays being only five days a part, it's inevitable they will be sharing parties, at least for the time being. One of them wanted a fairy party (Tinkerbell is big in our house right now) and the other one wanted a princess party. So it seemed only fitting that we have a Fairy Princess Party, that way everyone wins.

R turned four this year and started preschool the day after her fourth birthday. Her name means "enthusiastic one" and that is exactly what she is. She only knows how to give 110%. She doesn't know the meaning of the word quiet. She can sit and paint with watercolors for hours if you let her. And she has no concept of the fact that other people require sleep since she obviously does NOT. :)
Her heart is passionate and I can't wait to see the dreams and desires God places in her even at a young age. She's my little fireball.

This picture perfectly sums up Baby Girl.
She's got a personality all her own. She's going to do it all and do it herself. She's got spunk to spare and she's never met a snack she didn't like. She is always thinking about others, asking me to remind her to tell people "thank you" for gifts she has received and saving treats for someone she thinks might enjoy them. She has no fear. She is definitely going to be my little world changer.

The both requested to wear boots with their dresses which is perfectly fitting with their personalities.

I live my life in a state of delusions of grandeur or so I've been told. Pinterest can be an amazing asset and also a completely unobtainable ideal, unless of course you can afford to spend thousands of dollars on your toddlers birthday. The food is all Pinterest inspired and the table decor is collected from garage sales, The Dollar Store and the back of my closets. I had a million other things I wanted to do and make, but in the end I decided that enjoying the party and keeping my sanity were more important than trying to create giant floating flowers out of plastic tablecloths to put in the pool (or any of the other ridiculous crafts I planned to make).

I could write a post solely based around the adventures my mom and I encountered while trying to make the desserts for this party, but I will spare you.
Let's just say that without a lot of prayer and my miracle working mom, this was a Pinterest fail waiting to happen!
Those were rolled cakes with sprinkles on the inside. So cute and delicious!

I am amazed at the what my mom somehow pulled off- moss cookies and mushroom cupcakes- because what else do you have for a fairy princess party??
But as wonderful as it all turned out in the end, I think we'll forget the saving money thing and just buy our desserts next year!

We couldn't leave G out of the adorable birthday outfits!

D.C. and Dovie with the grand babies.

I never get nearly enough pictures with all of our sweet family and friends, but here are a few.

These girls were showered with lots of love and TONS of gifts.
They have no idea how blessed they are, but Jeff and I sure do. We are grateful to be surrounded by a village of people who love on us and our babies.
Happy 3rd and 4th birthdays to these sweet girls!

Time Marches On- PreK Starts this Week

R turned four this week.

R begins PreK this week.

There are lots of changes going on in our household.
Yesterday we walked in to what will be her classroom for the next school year. She said, "Hi!" to her teacher and then immediately ran to the play center and made herself comfortable.
I was proud of myself. I held it together. In fact, I was feeling pretty excited for her. Then I woke up in the middle of the night last night with WAY more emotions than I anticipated.

I started to realize that soon we would be doing our everyday things without her. This little person, who has been a staple in every aspect of my life, will now be experiencing so many new milestones without me.

If you've followed my blog at all, you know I love pictures of their little feet and hands.
R's feet aren't so little any more, but these are a couple of my prayers over her feet as she walks through the halls of her new school.
"You have not handed me over to my enemies, but have set my feet in a safe place." - Psalms 31:8
"How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of the messenger who brings good news,
the good news of peace and salvation,
the news that the God of Israel reigns!" -Isaiah 52:7
God has big plans for this spunky, sweet girl and I'm believing that God will bless every place that her feet will go.

There are so many things I have prayed over this sweet girl and tens of thousands of prayers left to pray. But I am choosing to send her out with faith and hope, instead of fear and worry. I am choosing to trust we are sending our little girl because that is what God has asked us to do in this season of her life. I am choosing excitement and joy, along with the inevitable tears of missing my baby, believing that she will learn and grow while she learns to love and include those around her.

I know she will thrive.

I am praying for her teacher, teaching aide and all of those she comes in contact with. I am praying God gives them the grace they need to love each one of these precious lives in the way they need it most while refreshing them daily so they can face each new day as another opportunity to impact a child's future. These individuals hold so much power over how our children feel about school and learning. So I'm praying hard for these special individuals!

I am speaking peace, blessings, favor, joy and excitement over this new season of your life.
You are going to learn and grow and be a ray of sunshine to every person you come in contact with!
But no matter how much you grow, you will always be my baby.
