Princesses at the Pumpkin Patch

It's so crazy to see four little ones in this picture! Where has time gone? We decided that the girls would love to play in the pumpkins, feed the animals and soak up the fresh air. After years of all girls, we finally added a little boy to the mix. Before we know it, he'll be running around with them and there will be another baby girl to add to the brood.

Getting them to smile and look in the same direction wasn't working very well, but at least we got one with them all sitting (fairly) still.

This is probably my favorite shot of the evening and a sneak peek into what life with be like with three little girls.

Baby Girl was a little hesitant at first of all the animals, but she took to them pretty quickly.

These little cousins are only four months apart.

My model husband : )

"PLEASE can we ride the hehe's??"
I'm going to be sad when horses are no longer called hehe's.

A brand new family of four. Baby boy is only two weeks old!

Can you believe she just had a baby two weeks before?? Beautiful.

So many adventures to have, so little time.

Pajamas at Noon

This morning my kitchen and living room feel clean.

To the untrained eye, it may look as though my floor needs to be mopped, the piles of random objects on my counters need to be cleared, the small toys hiding under the couches need to be accounted for and the dishes in the sink need to be cleaned. But to me, today, these two rooms are a fortress of solitude.

For the first time in months, I can see the majority of my kitchen counters- regardless of the fact that they may be covered with crumbs. My kitchen floor is cleared of every single toy (for the moment). The table where I am writing this blog from is (mostly) crumb free and has beautiful flowers sitting in the middle of it. The toys in the living room are thrown haphazardly into every available container with no rhyme or reasonable sense of organization but they are off the floor, and somehow the pillows are on the couches. (Now, just don't ask me about the rest of my house : )

Could all of this change in a moment? Yes.

Will it? Of course.

But I am enjoying it nonetheless.

I am on a quest before baby #3 gets here to get some sense of order in my home. No, not perfection, just the illusion of order (while actually maintaining a small margin of REAL order).

Of course, my positive outlook on the day has only been strengthen by the fact that the girls have been outside in the beautiful weather for over an hour amusing themselves.

(A little too much sisterly love.)
I hope your day is going as peacefully as ours and that includes the tears and time-outs.
I'm going to enjoy every second that I can.

P.S.- Yes, in case you are wondering, we are still in our pjs and it's almost noon.

A Walk in the Park

These silly sisters are nothing but a mess, but they are my mess and I don't know what I would do without them.

Last week, our plans suddenly changed (as they often do), and we ended up playing at my favorite neighborhood park. Yes, I said MY favorite. I love this little park. There are no huge pieces of play equipment, no wood chip covered areas, no busy streets I am constantly trying to keep my children from running into, and most importantly few to no other people. Sometimes I enjoy the hustle and bustle of the busier parks, but usually I prefer to be able to actually sit back and enjoy the solitude with my girls. It is covered in beautiful shady trees and has lots of room for them to run and play. The only two actual pieces of park(like) equipment are swings and a jungle gym of sorts. And while I'm sure they prefer the newer parks that are decked out with the latest fun things, they didn't seem to mind at all once I opened up the car doors and let them run free to pretty much do as they pleased.

I'll be spreading out the photos I took over a couple of posts, but here are some of my favorite more posed pictures.

You will be able to tell from the lack of photos of Baby Girl that she was not so cooperative when it came to having pictures taken of just her.

In fact, this was her initial response to my request for photos.
I can just hear her saying, "Mom, you're exasperating me!"
Not that I would every say that to them : )

I have to say, this is definitely one of my favorites.

There's her personality coming out. She's my little clown.

No, I am not above bribery.
I promised them a treat if they cooperated, even just for a few minutes, in my photo shoot request.

I cannot believe how quickly these girls are growing up!
And I really can't believe that we are about to start the whole process again with another little girl! I know this baby is going to be so blessed with a couple of amazing big sisters to look out for her.
