Catching Easter Eggs

First and foremost we celebrate our risen Savior on this very special day. We enjoy a special service at church and spend time with family, but we also hunt Easter eggs. I know that eggs and candy and bunnies have nothing to do with Easter, but it's fun to watch the girls get so much joy out of something so small.

This year they used nets to "catch" their Easter eggs. These special nets came courtesy of DC and Dovie's care package of goodies for the girls. I'm pretty sure that was not their intended use, but they sure got a kick out of it.

Yes, if you are wondering, Baby Girl IS in fact wearing a maxi dress. And no, she was not wearing her glasses this morning, but that's a story for another post. R was very intent on hunting these eggs, while Baby Girl was much more intent on eating whatever was in them.

I absolutely love this photo.

It's crazy how things change in just a year. Last year, Baby Girl was too little to hunt for eggs and R was clueless. We had to sing the clean up song in order for her to pick up the eggs I had scattered across the yard and now she is an old pro. And she took her job very seriously!

We barely finished our egg hunt before it started to rain.

Our only way of getting the girls to take pictures together was to get them to sit down, not my ideal photo prop, but whatever works. I wish you could have seen Jeff behind me trying to get the girls to go along for these pictures. In this one, they are "praising Jesus."

Here Jeff is telling them that he wants to see their teeth, so they are in fact, pointing out their teeth. Not exactly what he meant, but they were following directions.

Overall we had a wonderful Easter. We celebrated this special day in many different ways, but we always remember what it is truly about.
Happy Easter!
He Is Risen!
